Marketing
The marketing team will focus on inbound and outbound marketing. Inbound marketing includes researching the market for demand and competition for the product, while outbound marketing includes advertising and promoting the product. The marketing team will use the information they learn from inbound marketing to make good decisions about target groups to create an effective advertising strategy.
The web designer and graphic designer will manage the website and create designs to make the website and promotional materials attractive and easy to use for potential customers. The web designer will work to make sure the website is up to date with the sales and marketing strategy so that the website clearly illustrates our most recent activities and products.
Becka Fay
Marketing Director
Becka Fay is a third year Economics and Sociology double major and Italian minor from Alamo, California. She spent Fall quarter studying abroad in Siena, Italy where she learned Italian language as well as gaining a close relationship with Italian culture. After graduation, Becka wants to go to business school to earn her MBA in marketing, and someday she would like to pursue a career in advertising. In her free time she practices Taekwondo with the UC Davis Taekwondo team. She also enjoys reading science fiction and fantasy novels and cooking Italian cuisine for her friends and family. She has really enjoyed being a part of MMT and feels privileged to have the opportunity to learn about what it really takes to start a business. She is proud to have been able to work on many aspects of helping MMT grow, from the writing of the business plan to executing a marketing strategy for MMT's latest product.
Heedrin Bustamante
Public Relations Director
Heedrin Bustamante is a fourth year Communication and Psychology Major and
UC Davis. Originally from Vallejo California, Heedrin has come to UC
Davis with great aspirations. He enjoys spending time with friends and
listening to music. Upon graduating in Spring 2011, he plans on
pursuing a career in public relations, ultimately working in celebrity
public relations. He joined MMT for the first hand experience in his
field. What he enjoys most about MMT is the wonderful people he works
with and the exciting challenges he faces everyday. He is currently
interning at the Sacramento office of Rose & Kindel as a public
relations intern.
Kristine Donahue
Graphic Designer
Kristine Donahue is a first year from Los
Angeles,
California, who is still a bit unsure about what she would like to
study. She is
currently considering a double major in French and Biotechnology, but
ideally she would like to earn a degree in every academic discipline taught at UC
Davis.
She joined MMT as a graphic design intern, and considers herself very
fortunate
to have the opportunity to explore the unfamiliar world of business,
marketing,
and entrepreneurship through a familiar medium. Besides wasting time on
Photoshop, she also enjoys baking, eating, reading Jane Austen novels,
bicycling,
and playing racquetball at the ARC with her fellow Integrated Studies
Honors
Program students.
Cindy Lee
Marketing Creative
Cindy Lee is a third year majoring in Managerial
Economics. She was born in Taiwan, but grew up in Cupertino, California. Her hobbies are dancing and watching movies and TV shows. In the future, she
wants to work in either San Francisco or New York. She interned at Deliotte
in Taiwan this past summer, and joined MMT to gain more experience. She
joined MMT because it gives her an opportunity to explore the marketing
department and be a part of a student-run business. She especially likes
MMT's goal to give students intern opportunities that will help
guide them to path most fitted for them to succeed.
Joanna Huang
Business Development Intern
Joanna Huang is a third year majoring in Managerial Economics and Japanese. In her spare time, she likes to do yoga. In the future, she would like to work in a field related to either marketing or copy-right/intellectual property law. At the start of this year, she started her own Etsy.com shop. She joined MMT to gain more experience in marketing.
JB Lee
Business Development Intern
JB is a UC Davis undergraduate student from Saratoga, California. He is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Managerial Economics with a minor in Computer Science. As an ambitious and entrepreneurial-minded individual, he hopes to one day start a business. Modern Market Technologies not only provides him with a supportive environment for pursuing his dreams, but has also become an excellent source of knowledge and experience, conducive to building a strong professional and entrepreneurial foundation. He joined Modern Market Technologies in order to gain a better understanding of business processes, but has benefited so much more. In his spare time, JB enjoys playing golf with his family and friends. Although he can no longer play as often as he would like to, he tries his best to maintain a 3 handicap. In addition to his membership at Modern Market Technologies, JB is currently a Marketing and Investment Intern at the Sacramento office of Socotra Capital.
