Primary Officers

Baryo Dee
Executive Director

Picture
Baryo Dee is the Executive Director of Modern Market Technologies.  She is a senior at UC Davis studying Managerial Economics with a minor in African American Studies.  After graduation Baryo plans on going into marketing.  In her free time she likes to shop, listen to music, and dance.  She has worked in politics and the non-profit sector as an intern for the Legislative Black Caucus, the California Democratic Party, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. She is also an officer of La Raza Pre-Law Student Association and of the Junior Investors and Entrepreneurs.  MMT was formed to give students a space to explore the amorphous term "business" to find out where they fit in and give them the skills and courage to begin starting their own businesses.  Baryo is passionate about MMT because it gives back to community in different levels: it helps people explore career choices, promotes entrepreneurship, and will eventually help fund someone's education.

Wesley Chen
Vice President

Wesley Chen is a U.C. Davis undergraduate student from Arcadia, California.  He is pursuing a Managerial Economics Degree with a minor in Communications and Philosophical Logic.  During his spare time, Wesley practices Kendo (Japanese Sword-fighting), listens to National Public Radio, and attends Davis Compass fellowship.  Wesley joined MMT because of his desire to develop practical entrepreneurship skills and business practices.  MMT truly offers students from any major a unique internship opportunity since MMT is composed of two divisions: the MMT student organization division on campus focuses on Business and Entrepreneurial education and the MMT non-profit corporation division allows students to apply their teachings in a real world situation.  Wesley is an alumnus of Arcadia High School’s We the People Constitution Team, where he fostered a deep appreciation for American Politics.  Currently Wesley is studying finance and would be interested to go into corporate finance professionally.
