The MMT team has been lucky enough to have guidance from a number of knowledgable and experienced advisers.  Both UC Davis professors and community members have assisted us in our journey from a small student group to an official non-profit organization.


Robert L. Woods

    Robert grew up in Berkeley, California and attended Merritt College. He graduated from the University of California, Davis with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. Robert completed his Master’s Degree in Business Administration in Finance with a concentration in Investments from Golden Gate University.
    Robert began his career with the State of California, in 1976, as a budget analyst. He served in various financial management positions for 12 years and 16 years with the California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS) where he served as a portfolio manager for the Home Loan Program. In this position Robert was instrumental in establishing one of the nations first home loan down payment assistance program and made CalSTRS the first and only public fund with a direct trading relationship with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. He is a finance and investment consultant in Sacramento, CA and a facilitative faculty member at the University of Phoenix, Sacramento, CA.
    Robert sits as a trustee on a Sacramento County Employees Retirement System, Cosumnes River College Foundation Board, Cal Aggie Alumni Board, President of the UC Davis African and African American Alumni Board and is a Trustee for Target Excellence. Robert is the founding father of the Sacramento Graduate Chapter of Theta Gamma Sigma, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.



Maurice Thomas

Maurice started his customer service and sales experience at a young age which lead to his development into a professional. He has a bachelors degree in Business Administration with concentrations in General Management, International Business, Finance, and REAL ESTATE with a minor in Marketing from California State University Sacramento. While in college he worked in a internship with Remax Gold and received a vast amount of training from Remax to SAR. In 2008 Maurice graduated from the Sacramento Entreprenuership Academy and won "The Most Viable Business Plan" award.  He was on the Supervisory Committee Heritage Credit UnionMaurice Thomas is now the owner and broker at Eagle Eye Realty; the company primarily services Northern California. Eagle Eye Realty’s mission is to provide customers with premium service and the best opportunities possible (www.myeagleeyerealty.com).  Maurice’s expertise, training and all around skill set makes him a great asset for his valued customers.
 

Ken Barnes

Ken graduated from UC Davis with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a minor in Managerial Economics. He started working at the UC Davis Internship and Career Center in 1999 and has been a Program Coordinator in Liberal Arts and Business since 2005. Recently he assumed managerial responsibilities of the UCD Community Service Resource Center.

Through his education and job, he has worked hard to keep students connected with the complex worlds of business, politics, and law. He really enjoys preparing students to enter the professional world and making sure UC Davis students are as competitive as they can be in their job search.

Before working for the Internship and Career Center, Ken worked at Footlocker, John Hancock Financial Services, and at a computer consulting company. All of those experiences gave him a well-rounded skill set to assist students.
